Hello.
My Uncle has recently passed away, He was very heavily tattooed, He told me that all his Tattoo’s were done by Rich Mingins.
He said that He was a very respected Artist in his time.
Most of my Uncles Tattoo’s were done in the late 50’s early 60’s when Rich had a studio in Harlesden North London.
Although they were quite old, you could see that they were very good, and must have looked great years ago when the lines were sharper.
The big question is, can anyone tell me anything about Rich Mingins?
Thanks.

Bob Moore [Cheltenham]
Paul O,conner[Weymouth]
All these Tattoos were done in the eighties and early nineties, Some have stood the test of time others not. What about you guys.

Hi,

Im currently serving in the Royal Marines and am doing a lecture on the history of tattooing and need to put some military references in there. Specifically Im on the look out for any stories relating to tattoos used by the military or any stories relating to Royal Marines getting tattooed. Stuff like guys getting their Service Number and Blood group tattooed before the Falklands war, tattoos used to mark deserters in the early part of the 20th Century and even any stories of tattoos done by servicemen whilst at sea in the Navy would be a great help.

And in case anyone was wondering, I have been tattooed 6 times and am just waiting for the inspiration for my next one!!

Many thanks,

I’m looking for some advice in what floor and wall coverings would be best to get through the local health inspection?
I’m looking to fit it out in a 50’s diner style.
Any advice will be well apreciated.

I was topping up on my Spirit paper the other day and decided to get some from a company I hadn’t used before.

When it arrived I opend up the box and it had like a waxed sheet as the first sheet.
I haven’t come across this before so sent it back.

The spirit paper I have bought in the past has got tracing paper as the first sheet which is ideal for me either to hand draw the stencils or put through my dot matrix printer.

Has anyone else had this issue before.

Cheers

I can’t believe how time flies,
I have been tattooing now for 3 years and it seems like 5 minutes ago I was scrubbing tubes, setting up stations, drawing flowers, skulls and swallows.

This is the best move I have ever made and thanks to Colin for giving me the knowledge and drive to move forward.

For all you people out there who are wanting to take up a career in tattooing, make sure you are prepared to lose time money and sleep.
Make sure that this it what you realy want in life because believe me it is a way of life and it takes over.

I would also like to thank all the tattoo artists on here that have made me feel welcome and can’t wait to meet up with some if not all of you in the future.

All the very best
