Hi, my name is Jon Poulson, I am an experienced tattoo artist from Las Vegas, NV, USA.
I am moving to London in the very near future and I am looking for a place to work (tattoo).
I have an extensive background in all forms of tattooing, but I have a strong background in in Polynesian Tribal tattoos as well as traditional and neo-traditional both color and Black and Grey.
Anyway, I just finished up a guest spot in Vancouver, BC Canada and am now on my way to the UK.

Prior to working @ a fantastic shop on Granville St. In Vancouver, BC, CA, I worked at Vince Neil Ink in Las Vegas, NV, USA, owned by Vince Neil of Motley Crue, This shop is the only Tattoo shop on the World Famous Las Vegas Strip, and quite possibly one of the busiest in town. Before that I was at Tattoo Heaven for several years, Tattoo Heaven is located further down Las Vegas Blvd., in a seedier part of town, but still had a great location, although somewhat lacking in reputation these days. These were two of the busiest shops in Sin City.
Prior to that, I worked at a few of the other completely custom tattoo shops around Las Vegas, notably Skin Factory and Sacred Center Tattoo. Sacred Center Tattoo is a custom specialty shop, focusing on Traditional hand drawn (no stencils used) Polynesian style tribal under the direction of Mike Fatutoa aka Samoan Mike. I apprenticed under Mike for quite some time, and I worked with him for just over 2 years, Working with mike allowed me to develop a love for the art of both modern and traditional tattooing and gave me a great respect for the traditions surrounding it’s early roots.
All in all, I have over 8 years of professional experience as a full time tattoo artist and I am a honestly a great guy, who is great with customers, without that holier than thou attitude that is prolific at many shops these days. I love to tattoo, I love learning new techniches and methods and I am constantly updating my styles along the way. I am Honest, Clean, Dependable as well as Drama and Drug free, I am Vegan but not preachy about it and I love art and tattooing with a passion.
I know it’s the slow season so If your shop isn’t hiring, any info on a decent shop that’s looking for a good artist would be greatly appreciated. I am looking for a full time spot, but I am willing to accept part time and/or even back-up artist or guest artist position at this point.
I am very excited about the move to the UK, My fiance is living there now, has a great job and we have a great apartment.
Anyone interested in knowing more about me, has questions, etc…, or any has any information to share on local shops or artists; good, bad or just shops to stay away from, I would love to hear from you as soon as possible.
As I said, I plan on coming to London by the end of 2009 and need to find a place to work as quickly as possible. I’m not looking to make a quick buck and move on, I’m looking for a place that I can work for at least a few years, but I am open to options and down for the long haul.
