What is the best QUALITY scanner for photos and slides for around £250?

Anyone bought a good scanner recently, my present scanner won’t work under Mac OS X Leopard.

It’s an Epson GT 7000 USB scanner but since upgrading to Leopard it’s stopped working.

you’ll want either a canon or one of the hp models that takes 6 separate ink carts.
I have a canon mp500 and it’s superb printing and scanning. you can barely tell the original from the scans.
