North Western Tattoo Club

Ron Ackers attended five of Les Skuse's 'Bristol Tattoo Club' get togethers and was so impressed with what he had seen,

told Les that he would also like to do something along the same lines. And with Les being the man he was, liked the idea (as he was always one for trying to push tattooing in the right direction) and happily gave Ron his blessings. So along with Mick Mcgowen as club secretary and Peter Lewis as magazine editor Ron formed the ‘North Western Tattoo club’ in 1963. Which not only became Britain’s newest tattooing club it also had the honour of publishing the first ever tattooing club magazine (newsletter) in the UK, albeit with just a small circulation that went out to members only.
